In March of 1989, Michael Diener left his position as Director of Accounting and Finance for a government contractor and set out on a new path--one that reflected the pioneering spirit and determination that his father and grandfather had exhibited when they had immigrated to the United States from Switzerland decades before. With one employee (himself), Mike created Diener & Associates, CPA'S and much more than a business presence in the Falls Church area. He created a firm that is synonymous with quality, trust and community spirit.
Twice voted Business Person of the Year by the City of Falls Church, Mike has served as treasurer and president of the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Falls Church Housing Coalition, Business in Education, and Falls Church Housing Corporation and treasurer of the Tinner Hill Foundation. Diener & Associates has been the proud sponsor of Piedmont blues legend, John Jackson, and other local Blues Festival artists. We have also co-sponsored the E.B. Henderson Writing Award (with the Washington Post) and the Falls Church Annual Food Drive (in conjunction with the Falls Church News Press.) In 1994, Mike received the Pillar of the Community Award from the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce. He was honored in 1997 with a commendation from the Virginia House of Delegates, presented by Delegate Robert Hull.
There are now 11 employees at Diener & Associates. We share in the same vision that first inspired Mike Diener in 1989. We take great pride in the quality of our products and the individual attention that we can give to our clients. We treasure the relationships that we have built in the Falls Church area and the new friends that we have made through their referrals. We continue to be inspired by the trust that our clients put in us.
